Lodges in Scotland?
updated 2012-05-13
Holiday lodges in Scotland have become a popular option for visitors to Scotland. Many lodges in Scotland are
found in beautiful woodland settings, affording an almost mystical feel to guests looking to shut the world
outside for a while and return to simpler things. Lodges for rent in Scotland today are often well equipped and
fully heated and offer a measure of luxury in a rustic setting. They are great for a weekend break, are
typically dog and pet friendly and you can even bring the dog...

Holiday Lodges are typically more expensive than caravans and camping, but can be cheaper with more
luxury than staying in a remote stone-built country cottage. Look out for a Real-Wood Lodge. Such lodges are
made from solid wood and so naturally insulate the internal spaces from the rugged Scottish weather. When
pre-heated, they retain the heat much better than a thin-walled caravan or pre-fab chalet. In Scotland warmth
and shelter from the weather is very impotant, and you wont want to compromise your comfort or your pocket
choosing the cheaper option.
Scotland is a most beautiful, yet rugged country on the northern fringes of Europe. The
Scottish people are a strong, proud nation. Celtic and Norse influences are particularly evident. Scotland is
seen by many as Europes last wilderness. When you visit Scotland you will sense it's bloody history, strangely
haunting woods and glens, beautiful loch and mountain landscape and catch a glimpse of its elusive
wildlife.

Children love staying in Lodges in Scotland. Holiday Lodges offer a home-from-home environment, and
their rustic charm excites both young and old. Perhaps some adjustment is needed away from the usual
technological magnets to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and the unique Scottish magic. If you need a daily fix of
modern day civilisation, choose a cabin near a town or village, or if its an active holiday you want, be sure
you are close to the mountain, loch or forest.
Enjoy a hearty Scottish meal together amidst some of the most beautiful, yet ever-changing
scenery in the world. Hold hands taking in the rugged, yet peaceful landscape. Steal a kiss on a remote
Scottish beach as the sun sets over distant islands. Sip an evening drink on the veranda before retiring. Enjoy
a unique Scottish experience "away from it all"

Scotland offers a varied landscape to suit all tastes. The Scottish Highlands begins just a little way to the
west and north of the Scottish Central Belt and is easily accessed within a 1-hour drive from Glasgow. Argyll
to the west offers sea and mountain landscape, once a homeland of the migrating Irish Gaels, with the popular
Clyde towns and villages, the mountain passes and remote Scottish island experiences.
Be sure to ask for a pet-friendly Lodge for your holiday break. Dont leave the family pet at
home - he is part of the family after all.
There are now many cottages and lodges in Scotland offering short breaks, but only a few do
them all year through. Best value breaks are for 7 nights, however you can stay for 3 nights over a weekend or
4 nights midweek. Short breaks of only 1 or 2 nights can be available especially out of the main seasons.
